New Nature2 Initial Water TreatmentWater purifier start-up 1 Before starting up a new Nature 2 cartridge clean any debris and algae out of the pool equipment Balance the pool water before installing the purifier cartridge pH 7.2-7.8 calcium hardness 200-300 ppm total alkalinity 80-120ppm Install the Nature 2 cartridge after the pool water chemistry is correctly balanced. 2 Superchlorinate the pool to burn off contaminates and to activate the cartridge Make sure you follow the instructions of the superchlorinator being used! 3 Run the circulating pump: 24 hours a day for 4 days OR 6 hours a day for 14 days In both cases make sure you maintain 1-3 ppm free available chlorine Once the Nature 2 start up period is completed you can let the free chlorine drop to but now below 0.6 ppm Remember! You must replace your Nature 2 cartridge each season Starting a phosfree program will also reduce your chances of getting algae. Algae loves to grow in an environment enriched with phosphates and, by using natural enzyme Phosfree, you eliminate the phosphates from your water! |
